OASIS C2: Module Ten - Implications for Therapy
Learning OutcomesAs a result of participating in this learning activity the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of how nurses and therapists can work collaboratively in gathering clinical information to appropriately apply to OASIS items and the patient's plan of care by passing final exam with score of 80% or higher at the end of the on-line learning activity
This module provides the home care professionals with the knowledge and skills to work collaboratively in gathering appropriate assessment information and appropriately apply it to OASIS items and care planning.
This is a self-paced course with knowledge check activities. These non-graded activities allow you to check your understanding of the lesson objectives before proceeding on in the course. At the end of the course, you will be required to take the final exam. You must score 80% or higher to pass the course and complete the evaluation in order to obtain a certificate of completion.
- Discuss the discipline neutrality of the OASIS tool and the important role of therapists in gathering accurate information.
- Explain the importance of therapy and nursing collaboration in clinical assessment and its application to OASIS items
- State at least 3 key items included in a comprehensive assessment not routinely included in therapy assessments

Cindy Krafft PT, MS, HCS-O is an owner of K&K Health Care Solutions based in Florida. She brings 30 years of home health expertise that ranges from direct patient care to operational / management issues as well as a passion for understanding regulations. Years spent in the direct patient environment solidified that this was the optimal setting for the provision of effective and efficient interdisciplinary care as it focuses on functionality and patient centered care delivery. Recognition that the providing care in the home environment presents both unique opportunities and challenges is clearly evident in both training and consultation activities. For the past nearly 20 years, Cindy has been a nationally recognized educator in the areas of documentation, regulation, therapy utilization and OASIS. She has and currently serves on multiple Technical Expert Panels with CMS Contractors working on clinical and payment reforms and bundled payment care initiatives. Her focus is on providing the knowledge and tools critical to the post-acute continuum of care to operationalize external requirements while keeping the driver of care where it needs to be – the needs of each patient being cared for.
