OASIS E: Module 2 - Administration Hearing Speech and Vision
Learning OutcomesAs a result of participating in this learning activity the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the impact of client hearing, speech, and vision issues on patient assessment and data collection as well as appropriate use of a proxy or medical record information to support accurate data collection by passing the final exam with a score of 80% or higher at the end of the on-line learning activity.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the importance and impact of data accuracy related to the OASIS Tracking sheet by passing the final exam with a score of 80% or higher at the end of the on-line learning activity.
This module focuses on the importance and impact of accurate demographic and administrative data collection for the OASIS Tracking sheet. This discussion includes identifying hearing, speech and/or vision issues and the need for assistive devices. Appropriate use and timing for proxy or medical record input is also addressed.
This is a self-paced course with knowledge check activities. These non-graded activities allow you to check your understanding of the lesson objectives before proceeding on in the course. At the end of the course, you will be required to take the final exam. You must score 80% or higher to pass the course and complete the evaluation to obtain a certificate of completion. The last day to successfully complete this course and receive a Certificate of Completion will be December 31, 2025. You must complete the content, Final Quiz, and Course Survey on or before that day.

Cindy Krafft PT, MS, HCS-O is an owner of K&K Health Care Solutions based in Florida. She brings 30 years of home health expertise that ranges from direct patient care to operational / management issues as well as a passion for understanding regulations. Years spent in the direct patient environment solidified that this was the optimal setting for the provision of effective and efficient interdisciplinary care as it focuses on functionality and patient centered care delivery. Recognition that the providing care in the home environment presents both unique opportunities and challenges is clearly evident in both training and consultation activities. For the past nearly 20 years, Cindy has been a nationally recognized educator in the areas of documentation, regulation, therapy utilization and OASIS. She has and currently serves on multiple Technical Expert Panels with CMS Contractors working on clinical and payment reforms and bundled payment care initiatives. Her focus is on providing the knowledge and tools critical to the post-acute continuum of care to operationalize external requirements while keeping the driver of care where it needs to be – the needs of each patient being cared for.
